Keeping your skin looking clean and beautiful is no easy task. But if you are willing to follow the steps to a better daily skin routine, you can have younger, healthier looking skin in no time. Since face is the main of your body part when other people first land their eyes on you, you sure want your face to look as beautiful and glowing as possible.
There are considered to be 4 main steps in any regular skin routine to ensure that the best possible results are achieved. These four steps include cleansing, toning, moisturizing and finally exfoliating.
When taking care of your skin, it is important that you refrain from using any harsh chemicals that can burn or dry the skin out. These will ultimately damage the skin. Instead, focus on using all natural skin care products.
Before you can do anything, you must first cleanse the skin. By cleaning your skin, you can remove the dirt, grime, dust and grease from the skin and thus reducing the amount of damage these impurities can cause. However, it is important that a proper cleanser is used and that you do so in a proper method which will help to improve the effectiveness of the cleansing as well as the outcome.
Start by wetting the skin first. Before applying to the skin, place in your hands and lather it up then wash the skin in long, gentle strokes. Massage, don’t scrub the skin and when you are done, carefully rinse off the skin with a warm wash cloth.
Toning is the removal of any remaining traces of dirt, grease, oils and other impurities on the skin. This process is generally done with cleansing pads. Some people may not require this step and thus can skip it. However, some may need it more than any other step. It is important to remember though, never scrub the skin. This means no harsh pads or scouring soaps should be used as they will do more damage than good.
While you may think that your skin can keep itself moisturized, this is not exactly the case. We expose our skin to some very harsh environments which makes it hard to properly maintain skin moisture levels. As such, a regular moisturizing routine is needed to ensure that the skin stays young and healthy.
You can simply apply your moisturizer after toning or if you have pimples and need a treatment, you may use a damp, hot wash cloth to open up the pores in the skin and remove any trace elements from the cleansing pads then apply your acne cream or gel over this damp, yet warm skin for the best possible results.
Exfoliation is perhaps the most crucial part of any skin care regimen. It is not done daily and recommended to do it once per week or twice if you have acne prone skin or very oily skin. Exfoliation is the removal of the dead skin cells. These dead cells can block pores and lead to acne outbreaks or worse. It is important to remember though, that just like toning you do not want to damage any healthy skin from scrubbing with harsh chemicals or scrubs. Instead, use hot water and gentle rubbing to remove any damages and dead cells.
